Our Story
Richmond Heights, I can't believe it's been four years already! Together, we have moved our city forward, stabilized our government and worked hand in hand with Mayor Kim A. Thomas' administration and my incredible council of colleagues who put our residents first.
I have dedicated my life to helping others. As a husband, father, and advocate for my special needs son, as a social worker, I have devoted my life to helping families during their darkest moments and celebrating with them in their brightest moments.
As a union representative, I have fought for fair wages, ensuring hard-working families can put food on their tables and a roof over their heads. As a school intervention specialist, I have stood firm in advocating for fair school funding and support for students and families, never pointing fingers, but always laser-focused on solutions.
I served over 10 years on the Richmond Heights Local Schools Board, first as Chair and then Vice Chair, before you trusted me and elected me four years ago to represent you as City Council President. Because of your support, Richmond Heights has transformed. Roads are finally being repaired, infrastructure is being upgraded, and we are building relationships with our community through community meetings and forums. Businesses are expanding, new opportunities are emerging, and we have put Richmond Heights on the map.
We have prioritized transparency, hired an outside finance firm to ensure proper oversight, and passed 99% of all legislation introduced, ensuring that city services remain uninterrupted. Our city is a great place because of our collective efforts. Leadership means building bridges, not burning them. It means teamwork, not solo acts. It means lifting people up, not tearing them down.
I will continue to bring positive leadership to our council, ensuring that we work together for the betterment of all constituents. We will not be distracted but stay focused on the work ahead. As a National League of Cities member, I have prioritized governance training for my council members, ensuring they have the knowledge to serve effectively.
I look forward to continuing this journey alongside Mayor Kim Thomas, my fellow council members, our community partners, and YOU. Because we are ONE Richmond Heights, your voice, trust, and support are the foundation of our success.
Civically Yours,
Bobby Jordan
